Legal
Privacy policy.
Effective: June 3, 2026
This is the privacy policy for eikenbergsecurity.com, a personal portfolio and brand site operated by Tegan Eikenberg, doing business as Eikenberg Security (“I”, “me”, “my”). It explains what information the site collects, how I use it, and the rights you have. The short version is that there are no cookies, no analytics, no third-party tracking. The long version is below.
The only information I actively collect is what you choose to send through the contact form: a name, an email address, a subject line, and a message. When you visit any page on the site, my hosting provider (Netlify) also records standard server information automatically (an IP address, a user agent, the path you requested, and a timestamp), which is used for security and basic operations. Nothing else is collected. There are no analytics platforms running on this site, no advertising scripts, and no fingerprinting.
I use the information from the contact form to respond to you. I use the server logs to protect the site against abuse and to understand basic operational health. I do not use any of this for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making, and I never sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
The site relies on Netlify (San Francisco, USA) to host the content and process contact form submissions on my behalf. It also uses the open-source web fonts Geist and Fraunces, which Next.js bundles into the site at build time, so visiting the site does not trigger a request to Google's servers. Those two are the only third parties involved in delivering this site.
The site sets no cookies of any kind. It does not use cookies, fingerprinting, session tracking, local storage, or any cross-site tracking technology. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Contact form messages are kept in Netlify and in my inbox for as long as is reasonably needed to respond and follow up. If you would like a message deleted, email me and I will handle it. Server logs are managed by Netlify under their standard log retention policy (currently around thirty days), and I do not hold a separate copy.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK), the CCPA and CPRA (California), and similar regional laws. Those generally include the right to ask what data I hold about you, the right to have it corrected or deleted, the right to ask me to stop using it or restrict its processing, the right to object to processing or withdraw consent, the right to a portable copy of your data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. I do not sell or share personal information, so there is no separate opt-out for that. To exercise any of these rights, email me at eiktegan@gmail.com and I will respond within thirty days at no charge.
This site is not directed to children under thirteen, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age range. If you believe a child has submitted information through the contact form, contact me and I will delete it.
I'm based in Maryland, United States, and Netlify is also based in the United States. If you submit information from outside the U.S., that information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the site, you consent to that transfer.
I apply reasonable security safeguards in line with industry standards and my professional background. All traffic to and from the site is encrypted with TLS, contact form submissions move over HTTPS, and data is stored on Netlify's secured infrastructure. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but I take this seriously.
If I make material changes to this policy, I will update the effective date at the top of this page and post a notice on the site. Continued use of the site after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
